TEARcloud's Engager does not run directly on Mac - however, we are working on a future release that will. In the meantime, there are a few workarounds. Here are the 3 popular ones:
1. Remote Desktop Control (RDC)
My personal favorite. RDC allow’s you to control another computer from your computer.
In our case let’s focus on a Virtual Private Server (VPS) and a Dedicated Server (DS). Basically, this is a computer that is hosted by a 3rd party for you in their server center and you can access it remotely. They beautiful thing here is that is run’s 24/7 allowing you to have your windows app running around the clock. This means you don’t have to worry about your campaigns stopping when you turn off your computer.
Places I have had great quality VPS and DS from are Reliablesite.net and Webhostingbuzz.com.
2. Virtual Applications (VA’s)
These are 3rd party applications you can install on your Mac. Once installed generally they open a window on your Mac where you can run the desired window app you need. This may require Windows license to work.
Some examples of these VA’s include:
Parallels
VMware Fusion
VirtualBox
Remember, each of these allows you to useWindows (or other operating systems) as if it were just another OS X application.
3. Apples Built-in Boot Camp
A general overview...
Boot Camp allows you to install Windows alongside OS X on your Mac. It’s important to remember that only 1 operating system can be running at a time. This means, unlike the VA’s solution you are required to restart your Mac to switch between OS X and Windows.
If you just want to run a Windows desktop application alongside your Mac applications, a virtual machine will probably be ideal.
